New: Welding

In future, Schuster & Co in Mannheim will be able to offer various welding services to customers upon request. Schuster is very pleased to have secured the services of Ingo Baum, a welding specialist with excellent skills and many years of experience, to supervise welding operations. Two welding workstations have been set up in Mannheim.

We will naturally concentrate on welding work that involves tube and profile bending such as

• Tube connections involving butt and tee joints or branches
• Welding on connecting tubes
• Components made of tubes and bent tubes
• Welding on fittings and welding flanges

To do this, the following welding processes are used:

• TIG
• MIG/MAG
• Hand arc welding
• TIG cold wire welding
• Oxyacetylene gas welding
• Plasma welding

We can process the following materials in the welding unit:

• Unalloyed, low-alloyed and
• high-alloyed steels
• Aluminium
• Steel casting
• Copper, titanium
• Special metals

Certificates: We hold the certificate for “Welding of railway vehicles and components” in accordance with DIN EN 15085-2 issued by the Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Mannheim GmbH (German welding institute in Mannheim)
